IB World School

As an IB World School, we connect you to a global community and prepare you for opportunities worldwide

Nørre Gymnasium is a non-fee paying Danish public school offering both the IB Diploma Programme and the Danish STX programme.

An IB World School since 1991, IB students at Nørre G enjoy the experience of receiving an international education in a Danish school environment.

Introduction to the IB Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, commonly known as the IB DP, is an internationally recognised upper-secondary education for students aged approximately 16–19.

Taught entirely in English, it is designed for both international and Danish students who would like an education with a strong global perspective.
Like the Danish STX programme, the IB DP prepares students for higher education.

The programme has high academic standards and can be demanding, but it also develops valuable skills such as critical thinking, independent learning, communication and reflection. Curiosity, perseverance and commitment are important for succeeding in the programme.

As part of a diverse international learning community, IB students engage with peers from many countries and cultural backgrounds. This environment encourages them to become open-minded, responsible learners who take an active role in their education.

The IB Diploma is respected by universities in Denmark and around the world, allowing graduates to continue their education either at home or abroad. For motivated students who are interested in other cultures and ready for an academic challenge, the IB DP provides a strong foundation for university and life in an increasingly connected world.

Programmes

The IB journey at Nørre Gymnasium can either start with a year in the Pre-IB continuing into the IB Diploma Programme or it can start in the IB DP. Together, they give you a strong academic foundation, an international perspective and the confidence to study in English. Along the way, you will challenge yourself, grow as a learner and become part of a diverse, global community.

Richard, 2i

“I chose to go to Nørre G because I got the impression that it was a school with high academic standards where I could be myself. I could tell I’d fit in, and I was right. Starting at Nørre was an amazing experience. From the very beginning, I’ve felt like part of the school."
